Participants will engross themselves in an extraordinary experience as they travel through time and stand on the spot of the ancient Roman town where St. Paul preached and lived 2,000 years ago. They will recount the early difficult days of Christian persecution and be touched by the reverence demonstrated to the dead at the Catacombs hailing from Roman times. They will be invited to transpose these modest beginnings of Christianity to discover the riches of some of Malta’s glorious cathedrals and churches. They will find out more about their incredible treasures, famous paintings and exquisite baroque architecture, as well as about the palaces and original documents dating back to the time of the notorious Inquisition of the Middle Ages when the Knights Crusaders were at their apex.

It is difficult to miss the legacy of the Knights in Malta as they gave the Islands one of its best known emblems to the world – the eight pointed Maltese cross.

Participants will ‘join’ the Knights of St. John on their journey to Malta, discover all about their battles and the drama of the Great Siege of Malta in 1565 which saved Christianity in Europe, through unique Audio-Visual presentations, participation in full scale re-enactment parade and entertainment at exclusive spots which are off the tourists’ beaten track such as Fort. St Angelo, seat of Grand Master La Vallette during the 1565 Siege of Malta.  Finally they will learn of the humanitarian work this illustrious Order still performs today in a prevailing sense of Christianity amongst the less fortunate of the world.
